The Crisis of South Sudan
– About half of South Sudan’s population is in critical need of humanitarian assistance.
– As of 2019, over 2 million South Sudanese have been internally displaced.
– Over 3.7 million people have been forced to flee their homes.
– Among the refugees, 6 out of 10 are children who have been deprived of their basic rights.
South Sudan has been in a deep crisis since 2013. Political conflict has caused massive displacement in the country resulting in raging violence and shortage of food. Over 7 million South Sudanese – two-third of the population, are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance. Children are forced to live on the streets, and their education has been affected severely. Youngsters are out of college with many being unable to afford their fees. Farmers are left with nothing to keep their agriculture business running.
The ongoing conflict has pushed millions of vulnerable South Sudanese to the brink of starvation which is expected to deteriorate more. The vulnerable people in the country need your help. Arise Gateway, in collaboration with organizations, communities and individuals, aims to reach the people affected by the conflict in South Sudan.
