Enlightening People. Strengthening Communities

About us

Arise Gateway is a National Non-governmental Organisation (NNGO) serving vulnerable people across South Sudan since 2018. We are committed to enlightening people by  providing an avenue through which  local communities can be empowered with the tools and resources they need to enhance their development and growth. We are achieving this by providing education to the needy children, scholarships to students, training to local farmers, and making people realize their potential by teaching them essential skills. We are dedicated to working together with the local communities – we work closely with local communities to develop sustainable development solutions, to local problems.

Impact Stories

Bosco Bida, now 15, is one of the first beneficiaries of the Arise Gateway sponsorship program. Since his enrollment in 2018, Bida has significantly improved in his learning. Growing up without his parents’ support, Bida had no hope that he would one time have access to education. But thankfully, Arise Gateway’s sponsorship program restored his lost hope. Now he enjoys learning at school. “when I joined the sponsorship program, I could not read and write clearly, but now I have learned a lot, and I can read and write all the things taught to us in class, and I have also been performing well since then.” – Bosco Bida. I want to say thank you to my Sponsor and to all who are supporting other children.

My name is Desire Winnie, and I am 11 years old. My parents live in the refugee camp in Uganda since 2016 because of the war in South Sudan. Before I was registered for the sponsorship program, I lived with my mom and dad, and every day I could help with housework: cleaning the compound, fetching water, and cleaning dishes. I did not have much time to do my homework or to read. But now I have enough time to learn and do my homework because of the support given to me. Our teachers are also very good; they help us understand all the things taught in class and tell us to use our time wisely, not only for playing but also for revising and doing homework. I am now really happy, and I want to study until I finish school so that I can find a job and help my family.
